ST&CI Goal

The goal of ST&CI is to offer meaningful support and assistance to adults with intellectual disabilities as they work towards achieving their personal and employment goals.


Service Description

Skills Training & Community Inclusion operates within the Association's mandate and offers training and employment opportunities to adults with intellectual disabilities. Community inclusion within Yellowknife is a top priority for ST&CI. All employment, social and recreation activities are inclusive in nature.

Objectives

  • Inclusion of adults with intellectual disabilities in the community
  • opportunities for specific community based positions in the workforce
  • employment skill development, life skill development and literacy skills development through one-to-one and small group instruction
  • transitioning of students with intellectual disabilities from the education system to training or post secondary education
